This policy explains how Aphelion Publications (“Aphelion”, “we”, “us”) collects and handles personal information in connection with this website and our services. We keep the practice deliberately narrow: we collect as little as possible, and we do not sell it.
Information we collect
This website is a static site. It has no contact form, no account system and no advertising or tracking pixels. We do not set cookies for analytics, profiling or advertising.
- Information you send us. If you email info@aphelionpub.com, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp — for security and reliability. These logs are retained for a short period and are not used to build a profile of you.
- Fonts. Typefaces on this site are requested from Google Fonts. Your browser’s IP address is visible to that provider when the font files are served.
How we use it
Information you send us is used to respond to your enquiry, to scope and deliver work you have asked for, and to keep records required for contractual or tax purposes. We do not use it for automated decision-making, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Client content
Manuscripts, figures and related materials supplied to us during a project are handled under the confidentiality terms of the relevant client agreement. Access is limited to the team working on that project, and materials are retained only for as long as the agreement requires.
Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate — hosting, email and, where a project requires it, vetted specialist contractors bound by equivalent confidentiality obligations — and where we are required to do so by law.
Retention
Enquiry correspondence is retained for as long as needed to answer it and to maintain a record of the relationship. Project materials follow the retention terms of the applicable client agreement. You may ask us to delete correspondence at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict our use of your personal information, and to object to processing or request portability. To exercise any of these, write to info@aphelionpub.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Security
We apply access controls, encryption in transit and least-privilege practices appropriate to the sensitivity of the material we handle. No system is perfect; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change, and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be noted clearly.
