Aphelion is named for the furthest point in an orbit — the moment that demands the most precision. It is where we like to work: on the complex, high-stakes end of scholarly and enterprise publishing, where accuracy and speed are usually treated as a trade-off.
We are a young company with a deliberately experienced core. Our editors, typesetters and engineers work on the same production floor, which means the tooling is shaped by the people who use it every day — and the workflow adapts to your house style rather than the other way round.
We serve commercial publishers, learned societies, university presses and enterprise content teams, working to their standards, their schedules and their metadata requirements.

Copy editing
Language, consistency and style applied with a documented rule set behind every change. Light-touch through to substantive, with author queries written to be answered in one pass.

JATS, BITS and bespoke DTDs, converted with granular tagging that holds up to downstream reuse — discovery, indexing, syndication and long-term preservation.

Typesetting & pagination
Finely composed pages for print and screen, produced in LaTeX, InDesign or our own pagination engine — uniform, readable and accessible by construction.

Graphics & illustration
Redrawing, relabelling and recolouring figures to a consistent house standard, plus original illustration, graphical abstracts and cover artwork.

Tagged PDF, alt text, reading order and MathML remediation, benchmarked against WCAG 2.2 AA and the European Accessibility Act — built into production, not bolted on.
